Gauge and absolute pressure
Tyre and gas-cylinder gauges usually read gauge pressure: the amount above the surrounding atmosphere. Absolute pressure adds the atmosphere on top (about 14.7 psi or 101.325 kPa at sea level). This converter changes units only; it does not switch between gauge and absolute.

Is mmHg the same as torr?
They are almost the same: 1 torr is 1/760 of an atmosphere (133.3224 Pa) and 1 mmHg is 133.3224 Pa, differing only in the ninth significant figure.
